En route from Russia to Scotland with a cargo of wood on September 2, 1915, the sinking of the steamer Roumanie was the only notice given to the British that Kapitänleutnant Walther Schwieger and SMS U-20 were on patrol again. Schwieger stopped the ship and sank her with charges, but allowed the crew to escape. I have no other details about the loss. |
