I wish to thank you for your work, my great Uncle (George V. Lockwood) is still in the USS Vincennes CA-44 at the bottom of the Solomon (Known as Ironbottom sound), this means so much to my family to see that someone is looking out for those who can no longer speak for themselves!

In honor of all the brave men who served aboard her. My brother, U.S. Marine anti-aircraft gunner Joseph F. Bruno survived the attack and was rescued from the water and continued to serve until the end of the war. I later served in the USAF from 1965-1969, including one year in various aerial port squadrons in Vietnam. I later did part of my clinical psychology internship at Brecksville, OH VA Hospital while we were developing the first PTSD unit in the VA system. I went on to a career as a school psychologist. Joe went on to a career in carpentry. Two sons of proud Italian immigrant parents who volunteered to serve their country during times of war.
