Note the report at top right: "R.A.F. Press Home Attack On Brest - Scharnhorst And Gneisenau Straddled"
(Since Scharnhorst and Gneisenau put into Brest, France on Mar. 22nd, the British have been trying to destroy them. The attacks so far had failed to score a single hit. The attack reported here, also failed to hit the targets. Nevertheless, the headlines, once again, get more dramatic as they move west. This report states that the ships had been straddled, by the time a California paper is published, the "Nazi Battleships" are "Disabled.")
