1. Seit dem 1.März 1,000,000 BRT! - Gewaltige Erfolge im Handelskrieg.
(Since March 1, 1,000,000 BRT! - Huge successes in the war on commerce.)
[The propaganda in Germany was getting even more absurd. Total British losses for the month of March 1941 was 364,575 gross tons. From Apr 1 to 4 another 95,246 tons were lost. This makes a total of 459,821 GRT.]
2. Bengasi gefallen - Großer britischer Hilfskreuzer versenkt.
(Benghazi fallen - Large British auxiliary cruiser sunk.)
[This report was actually true. Benghazi had been evacuated by the British and the British auxiliary cruiser, HMS Voltaire, was sunk by the German Hilfskreuzer (auxiliary cruiser) Thor. Seventy-five men were lost, but 197 were picked up by Thor. This may help support the assertion of Otto Kähler, Thor's commanding officer, that he would have picked up the survivors of the Britannia, if it were not for the signal of a British ship in the area.]
