Note the report in column 4: "Nazis Say 13 Sunk in Convoy"

Seven British and one Norwegian ship. Admiral Hipper attacked SLS-64 sank another 7 ships on the 12th, (Admiral Hipper accounted for 1 ship from HG-53.) German aircraft sank one on the 12th which was not in HG-53, and U-52 sank one on the 10th from OG-52.)

(Former Presidential candidate Wendell Wilkie claiming that Winston Churchill is the World's Greatest man. And in the fullness of history, he may very well have been correct.)

(Partially true. The British seemed somewhat informed of the German intentions against Gibraltar and Suez. Hitler ordered the attack on Gibraltar [Operation Felix,] on or about Nov. 12, 1940. Hitler's directive included a provision to attack Suez as well as the possible occupation of Portugal, the Cape Verde Islands, Madeira and the Azores. For various reasons, on Dec. 11, 1940 Hitler cancelled Operation Felix.)

Note the report in columns 1-2: "2,000-Mile Plane Trip Futile; Dog, Pining for Master, Dies"
(The Synchronicity Conundrum strikes again. I was working on this page on Dec. 29, 2021, only hours after our oldest cat, Little Gray, had died, the story of the dog getting home in time to see his master and then dying was close to what happened with our Little Gray.

Our Little Gray was almost 20-years-old, and it was his time to go to the Rainbow Bridge. He went outside Dec. 28, the day he was supposed to go to the Rainbow Bridge, but did not come home so he missed his appointment. I thought I would never see him again because I believed that had gone somewhere to die. But the next day, Dec. 29, at 0930 I saw him walking across the yard and was able to catch him. He went to the Rainbow Bridge at 1203, but he did not die alone, and he came home just in time to see his family one last time, just like Laddie.)
