The wooden brig Mary Lester was built by Lewis of Milford Haven, Wales in 1864, she was 103' long and registered at 188 tons. By 1886 she was owned by Roberts & Griffiths of Carnarvon (Caernarfon), Wales. On October 3, 1886 she left Glasgow loaded with coal for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She had sailed the oceans for twenty-two years, but after leaving Glasgow she was never seen again. She was finally given up for lost in April of 1887. |
