I found this site by chance, when I saw the pictures of the ship memories flooded back. I served on the Nimitz from 1975 to 1978 as a hull tech memories I will never forget. I have never been more proud to have served on this ship. I only hope those who have or those who are presently serving on her understand the honor and history they are being a part of by serving on the Nimitz. It's been many years now and the sea still calls me.

Just watched the first installment of Carrier on PBS. My brother-in-law was a career man last serving aboard the Enterprise as radar-man. Enjoyed the web-site of this great carrier!

Great site! I was an engineer at Newport News Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Co. from 1968 to 1972 and helped
build the Nimitz. I would like to add one bit of information to the “Builder's Data” for this ship; the NNSD designation (Hull Number) for Nimitz is Hull 594.

Keep up the good work!

I have a son Chad Boerma, who is on the Nimitz right now. I am so glad that you have this website that will give information. I look forward to being able to tour the carrier when it gets back into port.
