My great uncle, Tom Booker, served on HMS Isis as a seaman. He joined the Royal Navy in 1898, serving until 1901 when he was honourably discharged. My brother has his papers and we have a Christmas card with a photograph of the Isis sent by Tom. Prior to joining the Navy he was in service and latterly worked as a bank messenger in London. He died in 1961 aged 92.
