2. Oct. 1, 2009 I have just downloaded two photos of HMS Africa. My father ERNEST MUSGROVE MOGER served on this ship from 1916 to August 1918 as a Cook. He was a wonderful man, a very loving husband, and a very caring and loving father to my sister and myself. He also had a son from his first marriage ERNEST ARTHUR MOGER who served in the Royal Marines in the second World War. Before my marriage, my family lived in Romford, Essex. I migrated to Australia with my husband and two children in July 1983. Is there any way that I would be able to access a photograph of my father in his Naval uniform and also a list of the names of the crew serving on the ship with him. Dad was born on 30 September 1896 and died on 24 June 1974. I know that he also served at the base of HMS Osea as an Officer Cook until 20 August 1920. Any assistance you are able to give to me to locate any details about my dear father, would be so much appreciated. Thanking you in anticipation, Ann M. Winship |
Whilst going through some old family letters I discovered one from Fred G. Robinson, Mess 40, HMS Africa. No date but around 1916 I think. Any info on him would be welcome. |
