(The three men in the photo were on the 9,264-ton tanker Oklahoma, which was sunk on Apr. 8 by U-123. The ship was later raised and repaired.)
Also note the report in column 6: "Two Local Seamen Lost In Ship Sinking"
Also note the report in columns 5-7: "At Least 11 Seamen Lost When Two Merchant Ships Are Sunk"
(Hamilton Gray was master of the 7,137-ton tanker Atlas, which was sunk on Apr. 9 by U-552, two men were lost with the ship. William Collegan was master of the 6,151-ton tanker Harry F. Sinclair Jr., which was severely damaged, but did not sink. The ship was towed to port and repaired, sadly, ten men were lost in the incident.)
