Note the report in column 5: "Von Falkenhorst Dismissed Report" |
(This report from radio Moscow was not true, like most reports from radio Moscow. Generaloberst Paul Nikolaus von Falkenhorst was commander of German forces in Norway and remained so until Dec. 1944, when Hitler dismissed him from duty. After the war he was tried for violating the rules of war by enforcing Hitler's Commando Order. He was sentenced to death, but on appeal his sentence was commuted to 20 years in prison. Six years later Falkenhorst was released due to "bad health" like so many ex-Nazi officers. His poor health remained with him for fifteen years, he died at age 83 of a heart attack.) |

(Vice Commisar for Foreign Affairs S. A. Lozovsky made the bold claim, but like many predictions, it was little more than hot air.) |
