(The Admiralty claimed that HMS Parthian sank a 7,000-ton Italian merchantman. Parthian did sink an Italian merchant ship, the 4,208-ton Carlo Martinolich, on Jan. 9th. As was so often the case, the actual tonnage estimated is almost twice the actual tonnage.)

(Just another front page report letting the Germans know that Britain's newest battleship, HMS King George V, is in the U.S.A. and will of course be returning to Britain at some point. This gives the U-boat arm time to plan the best way to attack this warship on the return voyage. They could have reported him in the United States, but did not have to say how he got there.)
