Also note the report in column 5: "Big Gun Just Propaganda"
(The Evening Standard's military correspond ant was wrong, the gun did exist, but at this time it was still under development. Known as Schwerer Gustav (Gustav Gun) which was the largest caliber rifled gun ever fired in combat. The range however was only about 30 miles. The gun was not completed until late 1941 and did not see action until June 1942. When it was finally put into service England had nothing to fear, it was only used against Russian targets.)

Note the report in columns 4-5: "Conscription Bill Too Wide In Scope--Senator Bridge"
(The fight over the conscription bill was continuing. This report mentions that President Franklin Roosevelt had remarked that women should be conscripted too. As we all know women were not drafted and have never been. However, on July 21, 2021, the Senate Armed Services Committee approved an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act of 2021 which would require women to register for Selective Service [A.K.A. the draft,] just like men have done for decades. If this is passed and signed into law, should there ever be another draft, women would be subject to the draft for the first time in American history. Apparently, the subject of drafting women into the armed services has been debated by our congress for eighty-one years now. With decisive people like this, it is a miracle that we won the war. One thing is for certain though, the Synchronicity Conundrum strikes again.)
