The Freedom Memorial is part of the greater Andrew Jackson Higgins National Memorial and commemorates
the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack against the United States. It is constructed with steel recovered from
the site of the World Trade Center and is topped by the Freedom Eagle. The sculpture depicting the falling of
the twin towers and the Freedom Eagle were created by Jim Hellbusch.
