A double launch at Deutsche Werke occurred on August 18, 1935 when Z-1 Leberecht Maass and Z-2 Georg Thiele went down the slipway. Both destroyers were lost during the war, Z-1 Feb. 22, 1940 and Z-2 on Apr. 13, 1940.
