1. May 31, 2010 I served aboard the Gus Boat from 1983-1984 as the ships Chief Master At Arms. She was my last ship as I retired at the Armed Forces Staff College in Norfolk, Virginia, in 1985. I have very fond memories of the time I spent on this wonderful ship. It was relatively easy for me onboard because the crew was well disciplined and morale was extremely high on this vessel. The Skipper was a marvelous leader. We would have all followed him to the gates of hell and back. Thank you Captain Kenyon, for a most memorable time. MAC Gordon McGregor USN RET |
