Hamakaze (Cdr Hiroshi Uwai) at the Battle of Kolombangara.

Hit by 1 torpedo which caused extensive damage. Scuttled by USS Ralph Talbot DD-390 (torpedo).

Location: South Pacific, 25 miles northeast of Kolombangara Island, Solomon Islands.
