HMS Rodney (1925)
Page 3

June-August, 1941: While HMS Rodney was under repair at the Boston Naval Shipyard crewmen from the ship stayed with local families. These crewmen stayed with a family in Foxboro, Massachusetts. The photos on this page have never before been published and their existence was unknown outside of the family. The only names that were written down were Bill Patterson, Reggie Pope and Louie. We have no way to know which one is which, if you can help identify any of these men please email the webmaster.

The man on the right of the picture was my father, William  Mahoney, who served as a Royal Marine on the Rodney at this time. He also served on HMS NELSON, HMS BERMUDA, HMS AURORA and HMS GALATEA. He served for 13 years. He also appears in some of the other photos.

Yours,
Keith O. Mahoney
