27. May 6, 2020 It is my sad duty to announce that DEREK SMITH PJX273516, Anti Air Gunner, passed away mid April 2020, he was a survivor of the 1942 sinking by a U-Boat in the Med. Kind regards, Paul Vinall |
26. May 21, 2019 I was wondering if you could please give me some help regarding a HMS Eagle 1931 Freedom of the Seas, showing below. Kind regards, Gary |
Reply 1 May 22, 2019 This is a "Crossing the Line" certificate. It is earned by sailors the first time they cross the equator. Michael W. Pocock Webmaster |
25. Nov. 7, 2018 My grandad, Earnest Newman from Portsmouth was one of the survivors in the sinking of HMS Eagle in 1942. He was a gunner and lived a happy life until he sadly died of heart failure in 2006. I'm one proud granddaughter and very eager to hear some stories about him, if any survivors are out there please get in touch. Chelsie Newman |
