This is a photograph of my father at his gun which was at the bow of the ship when it going from Austral to
Japan. His name is J. F. Trodd, he was on the HMS Ilex before going to the Colossus in 1944 at Newcastle.
He is the sitting on the left and that is when he started smoking, he is 86 and still going.
