10. May 11, 2022 I know this my be a long shot, but we are trying to locate Raymond Moffit who served on HMS Bulwalk during 1961 / 62 he would have been about 23, any information would be gratefully appreciated. Thank you, Kerrie Thompson |
9. Oct. 30, 2016 Amazing collection of memories lives pictures going back so many years. I served as a Royal Marine aboard HMS Bulwark joining in April 69 with 41 commando from Bickleigh Plymouth. I then swapped mess decks and stayed for another 24 months as ships detachment having some fantastic trips and at times some sad losses. I do have some photos which I will sort out copies and send to you it would be quite nice if anyone reads this lets me know to put some things together as time has moved on and the memories fade. Hope this makes some sense. Regards, David Jarman RM 25816 R (I think?) |
8. Jan. 13, 2016 I am trying to trace any photographs or information about my late father Thomas Leech who was a Petty Officer who served on HMS Bulwark from around 1952 to 1963. Kind regards, Karen Rushworth |
7. Sept. 7, 2013 In 1956, HMS Bulwark made a courtesy visit to Stockholm. Could somebody please tell me the names of the then captain and Commandeer (Air). Michael Stanley |
6. May 29, 2013 I served on HMS Bulwark from January 1970 until December 1970 and then flew out to Singapore to join HMS Dido. The stint on R-08 was memorable, but unfortunately after all these years have lost most of the photos from the time on board. Would love to have a copy of the ships complement and photos of the time during that period. Regards, ex Able Seaman Richard Czarnecki |
5. Aug. 16, 2012 I served on Bulwark for the last 2 years of her service and left her shortly after decommissioning. I am wondering if you know of anywhere that I can get a plastic model kit from. I have tried a few Sites but all I get is the new Bulwark. Regards, Mick Whitehouse |
4. Dec. 11, 2011 I am trying to locate a copy of the book produced at the end of Bulwark's world cruise. Does anyone know where I might get one? I was in 21 mess at that time. Many thanks, Peter Barter |
3. Sept. 14, 2011 I am looking for information about Steyr-Puch Haflinger vehicles which were used aboard HMS Albion in the late 60s and 70s as tugs for Wessex helicopters. These Haflingers were fitted with a special tow bar with couplings both at the front and the rear. Any stories or pictures would be very welcome. I have also created a page about the Royal Navy Haflinger version at: tdc.haflinger-4wd.com Thanks and best regards, Constantin Kiesling |
2. June 6, 2009 Does anyone know if there is a plastic model of HMS Bulwark available anywhere? Cheers, Pete 'Paddy ' Quinn |
Reply 1 Aug. 19, 2015 I've been making these models for years now and there isn't one of R-08 Bulwark. I made a model of J for Juliet Westland Whirlwind HAS7 anti Submarine Helicopter for my fathers 79th Birthday he was on Bulwark in 57-58. The only model I found of Bulwark is the 1/1200 (1 in 100 ft) scale minic (Tri-ang) series model listing number m751. with some fine detail painting, sea base and a glass case with a picture of Gibraltar at the back, might make a great model. Regards, Dave Miles |
1. Apr. 23, 2008 I am asking for your help. I have for some years been trying to acquire a copy of a commissioning book for 1965 to 1967. I do realize that this is not an easy task. Would you know where I can get the information to get one from. I remain yours faithfully, Janice Williams |
