2. Nov. 2, 2011 I have a Mauser model 1934 handgun. Both the holster and the gun are inscribed with an eagle over swastika over M, indicating a navy pistol. The gun also has O.2389 on the front strap. This is a navy property number and "O" indicates the Baltic sea. Inside the flap is written in ink "Dr. W. Menzel, Emden". I wonder if anyone can ID this man. Was he the ships doctor? If anyone has any data on Dr. Menzel or the gun, I would love to hear about it. Thanks, Sam Brookes, Heritage Program Manager National Forests in Mississippi |
1. Oct. 1, 2011 I'm am looking into the "good -will tour of this ship (1935-1936) to South America and its only North America call Portland, Oregon. I am an old student and did fine in the old card indexes and such. I have ample evidence and good stuff about the port call. Can you help in my finding on-line document about goal and motivation for this tour? Trish Brazil |
