Veterans Memorial Park in Hawkins, Texas is dedicated to all area residents who served in the armed forces of the United States in conflicts dating back to the Revolutionary War. A memorial listing the many names of those who served is seen at left. The small pond at right is ringed with plaques in the shape of the state of Texas listing the major conflicts that have been fought by the United States. In the center of the pond is an AH-1 Cobra helicopter that served in Vietnam from 1970 to 1973. |

The plaques that surround the pond can clearly be seen, they list the following conflicts, from left to right; Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Mexican War, Civil War, Spanish-American War, World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, Gulf War/Desert Storm, Afghanistan War, War on Terrorism. |
The AH-1 Cobra (SN 6916440) which served in Vietnam from 1970-1973 then in Alaska, Germany and finally the U.S., it was retired in 2002 and in 2004 it was given to the Greater Hawkins Area Veterans Memorial. |
