Tathra War Memorial
Tathra, New South Wales, Australia

The Tathra War Memorial, located on Bega Street in the small coastal town of Tathra in southern New South Wales. This memorial was established in 1965 and the plaques commemorate the loss of a local serviceman during World War II and the service and sacrifice during all wars.

Close-up of the dedication plaque.

A separate plaque dedicated to an individual soldier which has apparently been recently visited.

This plaque directly behind the memorial stands marks an Aleppo Pine tree that has its origins from a tree of this variety whose seeds were brought home by Australia troops from the area known as Lone Pine following the unsuccessful landings on the beaches of Gallipoli during April 1915.  A summary of events at Lone Pine are given on the Berridale Memorial Park pages.
