Sydney, Australia |
The Enlisted Women's Memorial found in the Jessie Street Garden, off Loftus Street, near Circular Quay in Sydney. This commemorates the contribution of women who enlisted in the Army, Navy and Air Force of the Australian Defence Forces during WW2, 1939 to 1945. The park, Jessie Street Garden, is named after Lady Jessie Street (1899-1970) who played a major role towards ending discrimination against the Australian Aboriginal peoples.
