Batemans Bay, New South Wales, Australia

The Batemans Bay Vietnam War Memorial located on Beach Road beside the Clyde River is dedicated to the local residents who served during the conflict. The memorial was dedicated on the anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan on 18 August 1966 during which D Company of the 6 Division Royal Australian Regiment encountered a large enemy force and although outnumbered near 20 to 1 emerged victorious through combined application of close artillery support, armoured vehicles and air supply and support by ANZAC and U.S. units.
