(A Presidential Secretary, Stephen Early, told the press that an unidentified submarine was sighted off Florida. There may have been a submarine, but it was not German. On this day there were two examples of phantom submarines off the U.S. coast. One off Maine and one off Florida. As stated before, there were no German submarines within 3,000 miles of the U.S.A. This story is also shown in the below paper.)
