(Another false report about the German Propaganda Minister. This is especially strange since Dr. Goebbels and Mr. H. R. Knickerbocker have been trading barbs in the worldwide press for the last week.)

(In the body of the story they claim that as many as 20 U-boats have been sunk to date. This figure is 10 times the actual number. Only 2 U-boats had been sunk in the entire month of September.)

(Wing Commander Ivan McLeod Cameron is still believed to be the first Australian casualty of WWII. He was shot down on Sept. 28, 1939 on a mission over Kiel, Germany.)

Note the story in column 5: "Fritz Kuhn Is Held In Tombs"
(Fritz Kuhn was the leader of the German-American Bund and a supporter of Adolf Hitler. Kuhn was found guilty of embezzlement and sent to prison. He was released in June of 1943, but arrested again by the Federal Government as an enemy agent and spent the rest of the war in a detention camp in Texas. He was deported in 1945, but was arrested by the German government in 1947 and sent to prison where he remained until just before his death in 1951.)
