(Generaloberst Paul von Kleist remained in his position until the end of the war. After the war he was arrested by U.S. troops and sent to Yugoslavia, where he was sentenced to 15 years in prison for war crimes. In 1948 he was extradited to the U.S.S.R. and sentenced to 25 years in prison for war crimes. He died in a Russian prison on Nov. 13, 1954.)

(President Roosevelt tells one of the truths of the war at sea. It is difficult to know, without evidence, if a submarine had been sunk in an attack. Without a survivor or some physical evidence, other than the presence of oil on the water, the destruction of a submarine cannot be assured.)
