Historical note: On this day The Germans established a concentration camp/ghetto named Theresienstadt at Terezin in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. This was used by the Germans as the "model camp." Members of the International Red Cross and other organizations were brought there and shown just how well Jews were treated by the Germans. In reality, it was a transit camp, nothing more than a brief stop on the road to the gas chambers. |
