(The ship's name was actually Yenice and it was sunk by the Russian submarine Shch-215.)

(According to "competent quarters" the son of Russian Foreign Minister, Vyacheslav Molotov, was captured by the Nazis. I have not been able to determine if this was true or not.)

(It was true that HMS Marigold, under the command of Lt. James Renwick, RNR, attacked and sank U-433, but this boat had nothing to do with the sinking of HMS Ark Royal. Sadly, Marigold was sunk on Dec. 9, 1942 by Italian Aircraft.)

(The Japanese government has ordered boys and girls as young as 14 into national labor service corps as of Dec. 1. The duration is for 30 days annually. This will include men up to 40 and unmarried women up to age 25.)

Note the report in column 2: "3 Senators Demand Navy Tell How Many Subs U.S. Has Sunk"
(Playing politics at the expense of national security, three anti-war Senators demand that Secretary of the Navy, Col. Frank Knox, release the official number of submarines sunk by U.S. Naval forces. That will be a short list because the number is zero. If however, there had been any sunk, we would not want to tell the enemy about it, as these men suggest we should.)
Also note the report in columns 6-7: "Molecule That Causes Flu Isolated and Photographed"
