Note the report in column 2: "Himmler Reported Arrested"
(Radio Moscow, the source for another false report. This time Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler is said to have been arrested for the conduct of his troops in the occupied territories. Moscow claims that Generalfeldmarschall Wilhelm Keitel, Chief of the General Staff, told Adolf Hitler that Himmler's troops were "discrediting the German name" in the east. You could clearly say that what the Germans were doing in the east was discrediting the German name, sadly, that was exactly what Hitler and Himmler wanted them to do, only in their view, this was a great credit to the German solder and the Greater German Reich.)

October 16, 1941: Front page of The Sydney Sun, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

Note the report in column 7: "Bombers To Attack New York"
(The Vice-chairman of Quantas airlines, Mr. Hudson Fysh, stated that Germany would soon be building giant bombers capable of dropping a 1,000 lb. bomb load on New York from a starting point at Brest, France. I'm not sure what his motivation to say something this absurd was.)
