Day 676

July 7, 1941: Front page of the Manchester Evening News, Manchester, England.

Note the headline report: "Nazis Lose Two Destroyers in Riga Gulf Battle"
(The Russians claim to have sunk two destroyers and a submarine. This was a complete fabrication. No German warships were sunk on or near this date and there were no U-boats lost in the whole month of July 1941.)
Also note the report in column 4: "Nazis Murder the Kiddies"
(The Russians claim that the Germans are committing cruelties which were beyond description in the Lwow area of Ukraine. This was probably the work of the Einsatzgruppen. The complete unreliability of the Russians probably diminished this report in the eyes of the public, so I am not sure how many people believed it.)

Also note the report in column 3: "Peru Bombs Four Towns"

Note the report at top center: "Blenheims Sink Four Patrol Ships, Hit Four Others"
(The British Air Ministry now providing unreliable and untrue information to the media and the public. I can find no record of any German warships being sunk by British aircraft on or about this date.)
Also note the report in column 3: "German Bishops Attack Nazis"

July 7, 1941: Front page of the Evening Telegraph and Post, Dundee, Scotland.

Note the report and photo in column 2: "British Submarine Sinks Italian 10,000-Ton Cruiser in Mediterranean"
(This time it was the Admiralty spreading disinformation. No Italian cruisers were sunk on or about this date. The Italian cruiser Gorizia, which was named in the report, was not sunk until June 26, 1944.)
