(HM ships intercept the German freighter Alstertor (misspelled Alsteritor) which had British PoWs from Rabaul [misspelled Abaul] and Trafalgar. Like most German ships caught by the British, it was scuttled.)

(The Germans admit the loss of the Hilfskreuzer [auxiliary cruiser] Pinguin to HMS Cornwall. This time, what the Germans claimed was true.)

(The report states that Gneisenau was hit in an R.A.F. raid. The report is true, but it is not from a recent attack. This occurred on Apr. 10, 1941 and it seriously damaged the ship and killed 88 men. The damage did not put Gneisenau out of the war.)
