(Report claims that HMAS Australia sank the destroyer French Audacieux (Really L'Audacieux) and captured the French cruiser Gloire. L'Audacieux was badly damaged by HMAS Australia on Sept. 23, but went aground and was refloated and repaired. Sunk while in drydock at Bizetre, French Tunisia by Allied aircraft on May 7, 1943 and scrapped in 1947. The cruiser Gloire was captured, without a fight, by HMAS Australia and HMS Cumberland on Sept. 18, 1940.)
