(An incredibly profound opinion piece, considering that this newspaper and its publisher were under suspicion of being subversive by the War Cabinet earlier in the month. This paper and the Daily Mirror would continue to be under close watch for the duration of the war. To the best of my knowledge, neither paper was closed down or sanctioned for what they published during the war.)
