(The Greek freighter, Olga E. Embiricos, carried 7,500 tons of scrap metal to Japan before the embargo took effect. On Jan. 29, 1944 U-188 would turn Olga E. Embiricos into scrap metal on the bottom of the sea with a torpedo.)
