(Official announcement from the Air Ministry. Keeping the "Never Doubt" clause in mind; the Germans lost 22 aircraft in combat and 12 in non-combat incidents. The Air Ministry also states that 12 fighters were missing. Fighter Command lost 13 aircraft in combat, 3 in non-combat incidents and 2 were total constructive losses due to combat damage.)
 
Also note the report in column 5: "Nazi Threat to Our New Warships"
(A warning from Germany that the German navy will deal with the destroyers. And they will be assisted by the press, which will publish sailing dates, numbers of ships sailing and sometimes even photos.)

Note the report in column 4: "British Sub Robs Nazi Sea Raider Of Loot"
(The Tropic Sea was stopped by the German Hilfskreuzer (auxiliary cruiser) Orion on June 19th. When the Germans learned that the Norwegian ship was carrying food bound for England, the ship was taken as a prize. A prize crew was put aboard, along with 24 survivors of the SS Haxby, which Orion had sunk on Apr. 24. The ship was being sent to Bordeaux, France when it was intercepted by HMS Truant.)

(The republican presidential candidate said the destroyers for bases (AKA Lend-Lease) deal was "the most dictatorial and arbitrary act of any President in the history of the United States." Just goes to show you, they will say anything against their opponent to get elected.)
