Note the photo at top right: "Chloe Davis Reunited With Dad"
(Chloe Davis, who had been accused of killing her family with a hammer, determined to be innocent, was finally reunited with her father. It was determined that her mother, Lolita, had killed her three siblings and herself. Even though Chloe was innocent, several despicable headline writers still found the need to label this 11 year-old girl "Murder Child" as in the example linked below.)
Also note the report in column 1: "Bid To Negros Made By Lewis To Gain Power"
(Maybe one of the earliest examples of a democrat trying to bring Blacks into the party as a voting bloc. In this case, Mr. Lewis, president of the C.I.O union, known to be associated with Soviet communists, put out a feeler to the National Negro Congress to join with them to increase political power.)
