(While this was not uncommon in Stalin's Russia, in this case the report is incorrect. General Kirill Meretskov lived until 1968.)
Also note the report in column 6: "Death Knell of Macon"
(The man who suggested the use of this product, Mr. Frederick A. Macquisten, MP, died only three days after this report was published on Feb. 29, 1940. He introduced this into the House of Commons in an attempt to increase the available food supply during rationing.)
