On April 15, 1893 the Italian bark Angelo sailed from Barcelona, Spain bound for Savannah, Georgia, her voyage would not be successful. That year, especially in Aug. and Sept. a series of violent storms claimed a number of ships across the wide Atlantic. It is not clear if a storm was the cause of the loss of the Angelo, and what was we will never know. By late Sept. she and her crew had not arrived in Georgia and was never spoken of again. |
