The 228' long freighter Ukishima Maru was a new ship having just been completed at Toba Dockyard in Japan. The history of the 1,148 ton ship is very brief. After leaving Keelung, Formosa for Singapore with a cargo of sugar on February 24, 1920 she was never seen again.
