On the evening of Oct. 9/10, 1944 HMS MTB-649 and HMS MGB-663 conducted a patrol off Venice, Italy. Apparently nothing of note happened on the patrol, but on the return voyage in the early morning hours of October 10, 1944 MGB-663 hit a mine off Punta della Maestra, Italy. Without any firsthand account I don't have any details of the loss. I assume the survivors were picked up by MTB-649, what is known is that when a muster was taken three men were missing. |
