Daily Event for January 29, 2012

January 29, 1896 the cargo steamer Saxon was wrecked at the mouth of Kosi Bay, south Africa. The ship was built in 1887 for the Union Steamship Company, but had been sold to Portuguese owners in 1895. There were apparently no casualties.
