Daily Event for March 3, 2010

On March 3, 1942 the SS Mary was torpedoed and sunk by U-129 off the coast of northern Brazil. It took three torpedoes to send her to the bottom, sadly one crewman was killed by the explosion of the first torpedo. The survivors were picked up on Mar. 9 by the Alcoa Scout and landed at Trinidad.
