One year ago today the crew boat Rene' 1 was rammed and sunk by the tanker German Strength in the Sabine ship channel. Four crewmen on the Rene' 1 were injured and one, Wade Leblanc of Louisiana died from his injuries later at a local hospital. The Rene' 1 was raised and taken to drydock for inspection and possible repair.
