Aug. 13, 1915: The United Fruit Co. ship Marowijne sailed from Belize with a load of bananas and an unknown number of passengers bound for New Orleans, Louisiana, she was never seen again. Built in Belfast in 1908 for a Dutch company she was a combination cargo/passenger ship with a capacity of 40 passengers. |
