September 29, 1943: A Vought OS2U Kingfisher being recovered by USS South Dakota BB-57.

 

June 19, 1944: Crewmen of USS South Dakota BB-57 listen to Chaplain N. D. Lindner while he reads the benediction held in honor of fellow shipmates killed in the air action off Guam on June 19, 1944.

 

August 24, 1944: USS South Dakota BB-57 seen off the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton, Washington.

 

February 24, 1945: USS South Dakota BB-57 seen en route to Tokyo.
