Second Fleet Memorial |
|
Sydney, Australia |
A plaque that commemorates the Second Fleet of European Settlers (both convict and free) to land in Australia. They came, on voyages of considerable endurance for the late 18th century, to the other side of a largely unknown world. It is found in Argyle Street near Cadman's Cottage (1815-16), the oldest remaining permanent building in Sydney which can be seen in the background.
