The Audie Murphy Hunt County War Memorial, located on the grounds of the Audie Murphy American Cotton Museum in Greenville, Texas. The memorial is dedicated to those residents of Hunt County who gave their lives in World War 1, World War 2, Korea and Vietnam. The centerpiece of the memorial is a 10' tall bronze statue by Gordon Thomas of 2nd Lieutenant Audie Leon Murphy, the most decorated soldier in American history. Audie grew up in the area and took his oath in the Greenville post office.

1. Oct. 20, 2019 Audrey Murphy, this man has always been my hero and have seen about every movie he has ever made, I am going to try and make it there. His actions in the wars was what made me join when I did, but I was in the Air Force and spent twenty years in doing so. I had always wanted to meet this man and I will when I pass away someday. I have been a fan of his since I was a young man watching his movies many years ago. Thanks, Wesley Young Retired military |
